DURHAM – Durham-based Measurement Inc.’s computer essay grading technology is a key component of a new online writing program for English learners developed through a partnership with another Durham-based firm.

Hank Scherich, Measurement Inc.’s founder, president and CEO, said the company’s artificial intelligence essay scoring technology, called Project Essay Grade, was built upon intellectual property acquired in 2002 from Ellis Batten Page, a former professor of educational psychology at Duke University, and associates.
